“The Cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be. Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us — there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation as if a distant memory, of falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries.” Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Curiosity has drawn our eyes to the heavens for as long as we have possessed the ability to see. Before humans developed the technology to study, document and traverse the universe, we compulsively turned to the stars as a fount of artistic inspiration, religious devotion and existential significance.

For Space Odyssey, we called upon our artists to reflect on our human drive to understand and explore the universe beyond our planet and present their own perspectives on our connections to the broader cosmos. Covering topics ranging from space travel, mythology, stargazing, the moon and space-time, the artists of Space Odyssey have captured the wonder of the cosmos as an enduring source of creativity and innovation.
