The gallery became the studio last Saturday, April 9, when designer and illustrator James Weinberg unpacked his screens and squeegee for a live art-making event. Weinberg demonstrated his screen-printing process and produced a limited-run series right in the gallery space, inspired by his work Spring Skull (1/2) which is currently featured in 5 to 9: The double lives of commercial artists.
Each print in this series of 24 is silk-screened on durable book board and bears its edition number (front) as well as the artist's signature (back). Available for purchase here.
Filmmaker Nick Noyes was also at the gallery shooting additional footage for the next installment in his Portrait of the Artists series - watch this space for the documentary's debut.
