Andrew Standeven received his BFA in painting from Boston University. He currently lives in Medford, Massachusetts.
"My foray into living history reenacting (during autumn of 2006) now heavily influences my drawing and painting. I continue to obsess on (and paint) grand historical narratives. Real sweat, real grime, real campfires now inspire the subjects I portray. Visitors to my studio can see my latest painting, "RFK as Paratrooper". It's a work in progress -- with sketches, references and notes from the past year of research. You just have to see it to believe it.... Especially the sheep. I've also begun work on my most ambitious piece yet: combining ancestral characters with the sweep of humanity, clothed and costumed. The working title is "Weight of History". It also includes horses, in homage to their enormous contribution to human history..."
